A. Basically most of us are afraid of FAT that is, Butter, Cheese, Ghee, Pakodas, Samosas and Deep fried food stuffs. Therefore, in order to avoid that, we tend
to eat more of carbohydrates that is, (Bread, Biscuits,
Cornflakes, Idli, Dhokla, Dosa,
Upma, Poha, Dal, Rice, Subji, Roti etc.). These carbohydrates break down and become glucose in the blood. They then enter the cells
and give energy to our body which help us to perform our daily activities, If there
is a family history of Diabetes or you are eating more Carbohydrates, then in such cases, there is resistance developed in the cells and they refuse to take up the extra glucose
that is produced. All the extra glucose is then converted into fat and stored in the body. This
fat is stored as sadipocytes (sdip=fat, cytes=cells) which eventually is responsible
for OBESITY. Therefore if we reduce certain carbohydrates from the diet with specific glycaemic
index automatically there will be less glucose in the blood, hence less energy to the body, for e.g. As the
electricity goes off, the generator starts. Similarly, as glucose is reduced in the blood, fat
will break down from the stores and enter the cells. This will eventually provide energy to the body for
our day to day functional activities which was first
initially provided by the glucose in case of diabetes & consuming excessive carbohydrates as explained above. Hence, we mould the body to come into fat breaking mode
